Plastic Cup Easter Ornaments 

This Easter craft really has the wow-factor! For this craft, you will melt colored plastic cups in the oven until they flatten out. Once cool, you can hole punch circles and hang them anywhere for Easter! First, kids will use permanent markers to color clear plastic cups facing down (the bottom sides facing up). Remember that when the cup melts, the bottom of the cup will be the center of the ornament, and the sides will melt down around it. Draw an Easter bunny face, a heart, a star, or any other symbol on the cup bottom. Then draw patterns around the cup. When kids are done coloring, place the cups on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in the oven at 350 to 400 degrees (try the broil setting) and take out when they have completely melted flat. If you have a glass oven door, kids can watch their creations flatten before their eyes! This super-cool Easter activity will turn your handmade cups into colorful hanging decorations!  

Crayon Tie-Dye Eggs 

Tie-dye your own eggs using crayons instead of liquid dye! A parent will first shave down crayons into shavings, using a knife or cheese grater. Boil the eggs and then set them onto bottle caps or a raised platform. While the eggs are still warm, sprinkle the crayon shavings onto the eggs and let them melt. The shavings will melt into beautiful tie-dye colors. Display your handmade eggs for the whole family to admire!

Seek and Find the Easter Bunny Activity 

Try to find the bunny hidden in the spring scene using your flashlight! For this activity, you’ll need paper, markers, scissors, and a plastic bag. First, draw and cut out a flashlight from white paper. Draw two angled lines coming out from the flashlight and make sure to cut that out as well. Leave that section white—do not color it in. Next, draw your spring scene onto the outside of the plastic bag. Use markers to draw in grass, trees, the sun, easter eggs and a bunny. Add a piece of black paper inside the plastic bag. The colors on the bag will now look very muted and dark. Kids will place their flashlight inside the plastic bag. The white “light” section of the flashlight will illuminate the illustrated scene. Seek and find the hidden Easter Bunny as you highlight different sections!  

Color Your Own Easter Egg  

Kids will color their own unique Easter egg. A parent or guardian can outline the egg shape on a piece of paper. Then it’s time for kids to fill it in using a variety of colors and patterns. Think about your favorite things as you draw. What does spring make you think of? What objects are associated with the Easter Bunny, that you could draw on your egg?  

Easter Bunny Puppet  

Kids will make their own Easter Bunny puppet that they can play with leading up to Easter and long after! For this activity, you only need a brown paper lunch bag, crayons, and construction paper. Kids will color the Easter Bunny face onto the folded side of the paper bag. Cut out bunny ears from the construction paper and tape or glue them to the bag. Underneath the bag flap, draw two large teeth and a tongue. When kids open the flap, it will look like they are opening the bunny’s mouth! This Easter activity yields an adorable handmade toy that young children can play with for hours.
